Saddle Hunting Backpack with MOLLE and Tackle Storage

Description

This MOLLE backpack is built around tackle storage. A front-loading zippered compartment holds four orange tackle trays that slide out like drawers, and a side-mounted rod carrier keeps a rod protected on the walk in. It is black polyester, also offered in a blue and black camouflage.

What stands out

• Four slide-out tackle trays in a drawer-style front compartment
• Side-mounted rod carrier
• MOLLE grid for extra pouches
• Multiple zippered compartments for terminal tackle, leaders and small tools
• Top carry handle

Where it fits, and where it doesn’t

It is first and foremost a fishing and tackle pack for bank, pier and kayak anglers. Hunters who also fish can use the trays for broadheads, calls and small parts. If you want a pack mainly for saddle hunting, a dedicated day pack such as the army green tactical saddle daypack will serve you better. For a tube-style pack that carries a bow or rods, see the archery and tackle bow holder pack.

Field tips

• Label the tackle trays by use so you can grab the right one fast.
• Use the rod carrier for one rod at a time, and secure it before walking through cover.
• Rinse and dry the trays after saltwater trips to prevent corrosion on hooks and lures.
