Description

This waxed canvas rucksack takes a traditional approach to the hunting pack. The body is waxed canvas trimmed in distressed leather with brass rivet reinforcements, and the closure is a quiet drawstring under a leather lid rather than a noisy zipper. It is a medium-size day pack in six colors.

Caring for waxed canvas

Brush off dried mud and wipe the canvas with a damp cloth. Don’t machine wash it or use detergent, because that strips the wax. Let the pack air-dry away from direct heat, and re-wax worn areas with a fabric wax bar when water stops beading.

Field tips

• Waxed canvas stiffens in cold weather. Work the fabric a little in your hands before a cold-morning hunt to quiet it down.
• Keep a spare layer at the top under the leather lid, where you can reach it without opening the drawstring fully.
• Store the pack somewhere cool and dry. Heat softens the wax and can transfer it to other gear.
