Hunter Backpack Extra-Large Digital Woodland Expedition

Description

This extra-large hunter backpack is a structured expedition pack for trips measured in days. A separate lower compartment holds a sleeping bag or pad, the tall main bay takes insulation, food and a hydration reservoir, and a generous top lid shields everything from weather.

What stands out

• Separate lower compartment for a sleeping bag, bivy or pad
• Tall main compartment with room for a hydration reservoir
• Vertical compression straps with quick-release buckles to drop the pack fast and snug it back down
• Ladder-lock suspension adjustments you can change on the move
• Large zipper pulls for gloved hands, plus modular webbing and a front patch panel

Where it fits, and where it doesn’t

It is built for archery elk seasons, black bear hunts and wilderness trips where you carry shelter, food and processing gear. It is more pack, and more money, than a day hunter needs. For a similar-capacity pack at a lower price, see the extra-large expedition hunting backpack. For a system that breaks down into smaller camp bags, compare the digital woodland modular expedition pack.

Field tips

• Put the sleeping bag in the lower compartment, heavy gear in the middle against your back, and the rain shell in the lid.
• Adjust the suspension with a full load. An empty pack fits differently.
• Cinch the vertical compression straps before walking so the load doesn’t sway.
