Ultralight Hunting Backpack Tactical Duffel Pack

Description

This convertible tactical duffel is a gear hauler for vehicle-based and base-camp hunts. It carries as a duffel, over one shoulder, or as a backpack once you pull the stowed harness out of its zippered panel. The structured base stands upright in a truck bed while you sort layers and optics.

What stands out

• Three carry modes: duffel handles, shoulder carry and a stowable backpack harness
• Heavy-duty nylon with a structured base that protects contents from mud and snow
• Two large front pockets that open wide for binoculars or a rangefinder
• Bungee side pocket for muddy boots, away from your sleeping bag
• MOLLE webbing and compression straps to cinch partial loads on an ATV rack

Where it fits, and where it doesn’t

This bag moves gear from the truck to camp and back. It is not designed for long hikes or all-day carry in the field, so pair it with a day pack for the hunt itself, such as the tactical MOLLE assault pack. If you mainly need cheap, simple camp storage, the canvas duffel pack costs far less.

Field tips

• Pack the duffel in stuff sacks or packing cubes by category, such as base layers, outerwear and camp items, so you’re not unpacking the whole bag at camp.
• Keep wet boots in the bungee side pocket or a separate bag, never loose inside with dry clothes.
• Strap the duffel down on an ATV rack using the compression straps so it doesn’t shift on rough trails.
