Hunting Backpack for Multi-Day Desert Expeditions

Description

This expedition hunting backpack is built for long days in open country. A thick padded hip belt moves the load onto your legs, load lifters pull it in toward your center of gravity, and a breathable mesh back panel helps on hot midday hikes. The extra-large top-loading main compartment closes with a drawstring and buckled lid.

What stands out

• Extra-large top-loading main compartment with drawstring and buckled lid
• Thick padded hip belt and contoured shoulder straps with load lifters
• Breathable mesh back panel
• Dual front pockets and side pockets for a hydration reservoir, spotting scope and small gear
• Compression strap network for tripods, sleeping pads and bulky equipment
• Nylon construction with reinforced webbing

Where it fits, and where it doesn’t

It suits spot-and-stalk hunts and multi-day trips in arid, open terrain where you cover a lot of ground. The current color options are black, army green, CP and two jungle patterns, so check the photos if you want a tan tone for desert country. For a similar top-loader with a patch panel, see the multi-day expedition hunting backpack. For a desert tan rucksack that comes with a sling pack, compare the desert tan rucksack combo.

Field tips

• Tighten the hip belt first so it carries most of the weight, then adjust the shoulder straps and load lifters.
• In hot country, carry more water than you think you need and keep it high and close to your back.
• Use the compression straps to secure a tripod or sleeping pad at two points.
