Saddle Hunting Backpack with Vertical Rifle and Bow Carry System

Description

This saddle hunting backpack carries both a rifle and a compound bow. A side scabbard and drop-down stock pocket hold a bolt-action rifle against the frame, and exterior bow straps take a compound bow in archery season. It is a medium-size framed pack that stays nimble in the timber.

What stands out

• Side scabbard and drop-down stock pocket for a rifle
• Exterior straps for a compound bow
• Internal frame stays that keep the pack’s shape under load
• Padded hip belt with zippered pockets for ammunition, a wind checker and a headlamp
• Hydration reservoir compatible
• Organizer pockets and compression straps for bulky layers

Where it fits, and where it doesn’t

It suits hunters who run both archery and rifle seasons and move between stands, still-hunt hardwoods or stay out for a short overnight. For a lighter pack with a vertical gun holder and a detachable belt, see the hunting backpack with gun holder and waist belt. For a lower-priced bow and rifle day pack, compare the woodland camo bow and rifle daypack.

Field tips

• Set up the rifle scabbard and bow straps with your own weapons before the season opens.
• Keep ammunition and the wind checker in the hip belt pockets so you never remove the pack near game.
• In freezing weather, blow water back from the hydration tube after each drink so it doesn’t ice up.
